About the Data catalogue

The data catalogue can be seen as a detailed content register for NVDB. It defines which road object types it is possible to register in NVDB, and which properties these can have.  A road object type can also be referred to as a "thing", "entity", "object type", "element", "feature", etc. Guardrails and Traffic accident are examples of road object types. 

Several tools are available for searching the Data catalogue:

• Dakat Klassisk
  A viewing tool that shows the complete contents of the Data catalogue, including object lists and category affiliation. Dakat Klassisk also shows previous and upcoming versions. Accessibility statement for Dakat Klassisk (bokmål).
• Dakat Innsyn
  A web-based solution with a simplified view of the current version of the Data catalogue. Has direct links to data in NVDB for statistics and display in Vegkart.
• Data catalogue in Vegkart
  Dakat Innsyn is also embedded in the map solution.

The data catalogue is updated approximately four times a year. The overview of data catalogue versions with information about changes also shows updates in the object list and category affiliation.
