Data that is not openly published in NVDB

We distinguish between shielding of entire road object types and shielding of individual sensitive property types. Users with a documented professional need can gain access by logging in. See: Access to shielded road object types and Access to sensitive property types.

Road object types

Some road object types are shielded and therefore not available without logging in to Vegkart and NVDB API LES. These are called shielded road object types. It is not possible to select or view information about them in Vegkart without logging in, and searching in NVDB API LES returns a message that access is required. Overview of shielded road object types

The following road object types are shielded, but available at login:

871 - Historisk_Bruksklasse
890 - Class of use, modular trailer, unofficial
892 - Class of use, 12/65 mobile crane etc., unofficial
894 - Class of use, 12/100 road network, unofficial
901 - Class of use, timber transport, unofficial
903 - Class of use, special transport, unofficial
905 - Class of use, normal transport, unofficial 

These road object types are not available, even with login:

562 - Test object type (by agreement only)
793 - NVDB documentation (cannot be used for registration)
895 - VegROS

Access to shielded road object types

Access only applies to employees of the road owner or road manager with a documented professional need.

Property types

Some property types are shielded from view and are called sensitive property types. It is not possible to view these in Vegkart without logging in, and NVDB API LES only returns data that the user has access to. See Access to sensitive property types.

The properties are shielded via a sensitivity code in the Data catalogue.

Sensitivity = 1

Only for users who will handle traffic accident data. The role is agreed with the road safety environment in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (first see if the services described at Ulykkesstatistikk 2024 (vegvesen.no) cover the need).

Access to sensitive property types

Access requires login and documented professional need. Users with access can view all data with the relevant sensitivity code, regardless of road owner, road type and location. Access to such data entails a special responsibility. The information must not be passed on or misused.

To access sensitive property data, you must first have a user, and then search for the role associated with the relevant sensitive code.
